Bloody ‘em up!
It has been four days into the war, and now the Demomen are presented with a new set of weapons to aid them in the remainder (well, not really) of the war. Straight from Mann Co comes the Highlander and Chargin’ Targe. The weapons, dubbed as the Close Combat Kit will allow Demomen to feel the glee and joy of cleaving a Soldier’s head off clean, as well as arriving at the front lines in the nick of time.
Due to the fact that the Demomen are still losing the war, Mann Co. had seen it fit to send the first shipments of weapons to the Demomen, in hopes of revitalizing the war on the losing side. It’s a friendly competition, you see!
The Demomen will crush the “World’s Easiest Class” in matters of days?!
The Highlander, essentially a huge broadsword that is designed to literally cleave off a victim’s head is a melee weapon that replaces the handy Grenade Launcher that the Demoman originally wields. Every one-eyed Scotsmen would know that killing an enemy does not mean you shoot a bullet, grenade or anything like that. Killing an enemy means closing up nice and comfortable with them, and finally delivering a cleave to the unfortunate fellow’s neck.
The Chargin’ Targe, on the other hand, is actually a defensive weapon that goes hand in hand with The Highlander. Replacing the extremely useful Sticky Bomb Launcher, this Chargin’ Targe will provide Demomen with 45% Fire Resistance and 65% Blast Resistance, plus allowing them to rush in the front in the fastest time possible! Any Demomen who is worth their Soldier kill tallies must have this! Used in conjunction with The Highlander, the Chargin’ Targe provides a massive buff to the sword, as much as allowing a full critical hit when the Charge Attack successfully connects with an enemy!

What could the “SCO” and “RES” mean?
A third weapon has yet to be announced, but as you can see from the above picture, it just reeks of sinister. What could it be? What does it do? How does it look like? What is it actually named?
With these two new weapons in the Demomen’s arsenal, there’s no telling if Demomen will be on their way to victory. However, for the past several days, we’ve been seeing a constant 200,000 plus kills gap between the Demomen and the Soldier. Will this bloody war end with the Soldier or Demomen winning? Only time will tell!
