Firefox-tan and Thunderbird-tan!
I still remember the days where I used to use Internet Explorer as the primary browser for surfing around the internet. It wasn’t too bad of an experience several years ago, but after receiving all sorts of funny pop-ups and as well as some extreme slowdowns when visiting sites, Internet Explorer is clearly the weakest in comparison to the selection of free browsers out there.
A certain study done by Six Revision has revealed some pretty interesting information on the performance of 5 different web browsers. All of the tests are conducted on the same machine, and the tests conducted ranges from JavaScript Execution Speed, CPU usage, RSS rendering speed and more.

The selected browsers for the test includes the new Google Chrome, the popular Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 8, and the other two lesser known browsers, Safari and Opera. All the browsers uses are of the latest to date, so there shouldn’t be any arguments about the browsers tested are outdated or not. The results were surprising, to say the least.
It’s forgone conclusion that Internet Explorer would rank the lowest in all the tests that were conducted. 5 Out of the 6 total tests conducted, Internet Explorer has ranked as the worst in the charts. Safari follows closely behind, although Safari had generally done better than some of the other tested browsers in certain tests.
Surprisingly, the best browser from the list of 5 is actually Google Chrome, not Mozilla Firefox as many people would thought it would be. Personally speaking, Google Chrome has been a good experience for me when I used it, but it wasn’t really feature filled if you ask me. Mozilla Firefox comes in as the second in the overall ranking, and it has topped several tests quite easily.
While the tests shows that Chrome is indeed faster than Firefox, this doesn’t mean Chrome is automatically superior when compared to Firefox. It should be noted that Chrome is a simple browser, a barebone browser if you will, and Firefox has the ability to add more plugins into the browser itself to make it more feature filled.
Safari and Firefox has a pretty close competition, while Chromes takes home the cake. Internet Explorer, on the other hand, still fails as much as it has ever since other web browsing alternatives came up. And Microsoft said that they’re improving IE with IE8!
