Here it is! Railgun anime!

Okay, it’s not really a railgun, but you get the idea. To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is actually a spinoff from To Aru Majutsu no Index. Both stories takes place in the same timeline, so there isn’t much confusion if you’re going to be taking up the this particular series rather than the first series.

Just recently, the official web for To Aru Kagaku no Railgun has posted up a promotional video of the upcoming anime series. Being a spinoff, you can probably expect the same timeline and roughly the same plot as the original series. Revolving around Academy City, a city where about 80% of its 230,000 citizens are students. The spinoff deals with the adventures of Mikoto Misaka, one of the Level 5 psychics in the original light novels.

If you’ve happened to seen the promotional video that I’ve posted on in the C76 Anime Previews, this should not come as a surprise to you, since it’s exactly the same one that was shown during C76. Well, just think of it as a better quality version, if you will.

To Aru Kagku no Railgun will be airing in Japan this October.
