True Tears Blu-Ray Disc Planned Include 3-Min Epilogue

Noe’s hoping that the epilogue would be made!

If you’re a fan of True Tears, you’ll probably find this piece of news extremely delightful. Recently announced by the Animage magazine, the Blu-Ray disc which contains all the True Tears’ episodes might feature something that not much animes would have done: an epilogue.

It is planned that the Blu-Ray version of True Tears will include a 3 minutes long epilogue, which will depict the future of the main character after the events of the anime itself. The 3 minutes will be comprised of original footage, so there would not be any kind of recycling of scenes or any kind of recap at all.

In contrary to the original Visual Novel, the anime version of True Tears has nearly zero resemblance to the original itself. This makes the series looks like a completely different adaptation of the original one. For more information about the plot of the show itself, check out this link here.

However, despite the planned announcement, it is said that the 3-minutes special will only be produced if a quota of 2,000 pre-orders are achieved by 26th March 2010. If produced, the Blu-Ray disc will be holding all the 13 episodes of True Tears, as well as an additional 53 minutes worth of video extras. Some of the other goodies includes a 74-pages fan book completed with new interviews and an illustration gallery.

Tempting, but the 2,000 pre-orders target seems a little too low to be begin with. Why not just make the epilogue without even such a limitation in the first place?

    It’s possible, but a 3minutes short is a little… well ugh, in a sense.

But yeah, you might just be right on that, seeing that True Tears is quite an old series (from last year) and I haven’t really been hearing much about it…

It might be to see how appealing it is to the fan base. If they get good sales from adding an epilogue to a series that never had one they might add somthing like this to other series. Also the preorders might cover the cost of the production of the epilogue. I don’t know how much it costs to make a 3 minute short so I might be way off base on that conclusion. In the end I’m sure they wouldn’t want to bother making one if there isn’t at least a little interest.
