Wish to be a magical girl? Wait for Sony’s new motion controller!

With all these Motion Controllers…Guess the future will be bleak for console bondage then?

Motion Controllers.

Notably, the Wii, and the recent announcement of Microsoft’s Natal. In order to compete with other big companies like Nintendo and Microsoft for the future market on Motion Gaming, Sony has announced a new Motion Controller. In the shape of a wand.

However, this would not be Sony’s first Motion Sensor Device. They have developed the Eye Toy and SIXAXIS, and as such, can be said to be the first MNC (Multi-National Corporations) that have developed Motion Sensors for the gaming usage of the General Public.

So what is so special about this new Motion Controller that seems retarded in the shape of a wand? During Sony’s E3 debut, Kish Hirani boast of the Wand’s precision as the best out of all current Motion Sensing Devices which we can find normally, even better than Wii. In fact, it is as accurate as those which the military uses in rich countries.

Apparently, the Wand contain features such as the PS Eye used in the Eye Toy and a special glowing ball, which is capable of changing colour for god knows why. Based on images seen so far, the new motion controller looks like a black Wii…With a ball on its tip.

The new motion controller. Looks lame, if you’d ask me.

The scheduled release date for said device is spring 2010. Let’s see what Sony can offer us at that time then.

I understand that as technology advances, the tools we use changes as well. But seriously, they shouldn’t do anything to the controllers! They should have left that thick wire alone, so that you can tie up something for fun, right?

Well, either way, motion controllers is said to be capable of involving the players themselves. But whenever I see someone plays the Wii, they look retarded. I bet this is no difference to both Natal and said wand.

Actually, that isn’t the final design. They stated several times that is a prototype.

I still don’t get what’s the big fuss about that…Ball. It makes the controller looks gay XD And yes, this is a new technology, so Sony is still training developers and their test users on how to use it.
