Finding a girl in a box can somewhat relate to finding money in shoe boxes…
Either someone was extremely generous, or it was a case of forgotten money…
Apparently, two women had found two million yen each in the shoebox that they had bought. The shoebox was on sale last month during an annual bazaar at Kashihara Municipal Unebi Junior High School, and two women had purchased them for 10 yen each.
However, upon reaching home, they each found one million yen cash bundles in the shoebox. They promptly returned the cash to their nearby police.
The police has since tried to locate the owner of the money, although to not much success. The Junior High School has also distributed leaflet to inform parents of the students to look for the owner who had sold the shoebox in the bazaar. The principal of the school had said that he was “amazed” and he hopes that the person who had sold the shoebox would be found soon.
Simple maths tells us that this is extremely profitable. Finding 2 million yen for a shoebox that you’ve only paid 10 yen for is like 200,000% profit!
This isn’t the first time that someone has lost quite a sum of money. Someone had lost some a million yen in his/her garbage bag sometime ago too.
Come to think of it, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when Japanese people hands over the money to the police. But what really surprises me is that how it is possible for people to stuff one million yen bundles into shoe boxes and completely forgets about it?
