Hello everyone, be it internet tough guys and whatsnot.
While you are surfing the net…
While you are doing something behind the back of your parents…
You. Yes, you.
Will notice someone, if not, idiots speak of something called Vocaloid…What is this sacred Vocaloid that both idiots and sane beings relate to? Well, it is a software. A software made by Yamaha, and if you do not know what Yamaha is, other than being a company, go google.
Vocaloid fever is spreading across the net like hay fever. The way in which they expend into your internet, as well as your picture and mp3 folder, is frightening. However, have ‘You’ done your homework on what is Vocaloid? Fear not, for I am here to tell you about it.
Basically, Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application software developed by the Yamaha Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by just typing in lyrics and melody.
Cool, you might say. Yes, Vocaloid is cool, and they are being used in anime and games. Namely Lucky Star for anime, in which one of them sang one of the soundtrack. And they are used in the upcoming FIFA games, for a song too!
The Vocaloid fever, however, started with the second generation of Vocaloid, called Vocaloid 2.
lol wut? Yeah, wut.
Vocaloid first generation was not popular due to sucky presentations as well as poor voice. But somehow, someone in Yamaha managed to pull himself away from the computer that was eating their brains away and witness the modern society.
After being enlighten by modern anime, he gathered up the rest of the crew who are still stuck onto the brain eating machine and started making the second generation! But they can’t draw, hence they hired some internet artist to draw for them. With the almighty picture in hand, they seek out seiyuu Saki Fujita to provide voice sample for making the first of Vocaloid 2. Basically, that’s the history.
The starter of the Vocaloid Fever…I present you, Hatsune Miku(初音ミク)! She was released on August 31, 2007.

Hatsune Miku is the first installation of the Vocaloid Second generation, coded Vocaloid 2. Her name simply means the First Voice of the Future, or First Sound of the Future. Now, there is even a manga named after her, called Hatsune Mix, drawn by Kei himself.
Her number code is 01, hence topic title.
Did you know that she appeared as cameo on Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei? Hell, you should after reading this. Did you know that Pangya Japan supports Vocaloid and has even made her one of the available characters in the Japan server only? Hell, Kagami of Lucky Star even cosplayed as her in the OVA. There are many version of her, but that will be covered in another topic when I feel like writing.

Author’s own thought on Woozai! Vocaloid has invaded this space! Let’s go on 01!
She is mai waifu, gtfo off her! MINE!
*Cough*
As you can see, I am a vocaloid freak, especially for Miku. All hail Miku! Vocaloid will rule the world with Vocaloidism, or Miku can rule it alone with Hatsunism for all I care.
Somehow or rather, I find the fever…Good. And as such, everyone going to AFA 2008, let’s pray that Miku figurines and even CD sets are sold there. If there aren’t any, I will whine and cry ol.
(Damn Netto for thinking ol is a typo of lol, ol means online!)
