Xbox 360: Failage Has Evidence.

You would know she malfunctioning if there’s 3 red quads on her body.

While we’re still on the topic of consoles, I would like to bring your attention to our beloved… white box. Well, there’s a black colour variant of it, but it’s generally reserved for the elite people; you know, being called the elite system.

I’m talking about the general community down here, so I’m going to refer it as the white box. No, the Nintendo Wii is not a box. Okay, screw the white box theory. I’ll just refer it as the Xbox 360.

So, we’ve heard stories about how great the console is. We’ve seen the huge amount of games available for the console. We’ve also seen the great amount of praises from different sources saying that the Xbox 360 is the best-selling console of this particular generation. All that good stuff, ya know.

But what you guys didn’t know about the Xbox 360 is how fail the system is. I won’t deny that the Xbox 360 is an awesome console, since I own one myself. However, everyone should know how much the Xbox 360 RRODs on people and that’s one of the greatest weakness of the Xbox 360 itself.

So, we know that the Xbox 360 RRODs quite a lot, but by how much? Apparently, a survey had shown that about 54% Xbox 360 have RROD’d before. This survey was conducted by GameInformer who had about 5,000 readers participating in the survey. While 5,000 is not a lot of people to conduct a survey, it’s still quite a figure if you take a look at the amount of “deaths” occured on each console:

XBOX 360 has a failure rate of 54.2%

PLAYSTATION 3 has a failure rate of 10.6%

NINTENDO WII has a failure of 6.8%

Not only that, it seems that quite a lot of people had mentioned that Microsoft provides some of the worst customer service ever when it comes to their consoles.

With such high failure rate, you may think that people would stop buying Xbox 360 due to the sheer amount of mental frustration (and finanical problems) it would bring if you were to buy yet another 360. Contrary to that, only a small 3% said that they wouldn’t buy another Xbox 360 when their current one died on them. Seems like the Xbox 360 has gotten a firm grip on the market.

While the numbers of failures on Xbox 360 is incredibly high, there are actually quite a number of people still playing off their Launch Xbox 360. That means it’s those Xbox 360 that was out when they only had composite input. No HD gaming or those nifty things. Wonder how these people keep their consoles is such a good condition.

However, like I’ve mentioned above, it does seems a little funky just to do a survey based off 5,000 people. I mean, c’mon, the more participants you have in your survey, the more accurate it becomes! A 54.2% failure rate is too damn low for goodness’s sake!

One of the best things that a person can to relax is to play video games that are worth really your time.
