Otaku Stores in Malaysia 7 - Toyz N Hobbies
Author: Chong Mizunaga

Toyz N Hobbies- another shop on the lowest floor in Cineleisure, Damansara.
The shop focuses highly on Gundam and mechas. When I say focus on Gundam, I don’t mean just Gunplas, but also stuff like Gundam War (a Gundam TCG), and Gundam trading figures.
The prices of Gunpla there range from around RM120~160, which is pretty expensive. There was also a Perfect Grade Gundam Wing Zero Custom going for RM 539. However, if it’s Gunpla you’re looking for, I highly recommend Time Machine in Times Square KL. They have much cheaper Gunpla there.
As for Gundam War… when I saw it at this store, it was my first time ever seeing a Gundam TCG (trading card game). ^^; I have not noticed any other shops selling this, so if you want to pick up Gundam War, this is the place to go.
Aside from Gunpla, this store also sells other otaku goods, such as bishoujo figures, and Gashapon (as you may have noticed from the first picture). No pirated DVDs and the like here.

But these “other otaku goods” are much lower in quantity as compared to the mecha goods.
That’s one half of the store. The other half is suddenly arts and craft (like, ribbons and stuff). ^^;
Overall, I’d say it’s an okay store, but there are much better places to go for both Gunpla and figures. If anything at all, come here to find Gundam War, or Gundam trading figures.

This store is called “Time Machine” and is a “hybrid toy store”.
It’s a fantastic place to look for Gunpla- they have excellent variety. Not only is there a good selection available, it’s the cheapest Gunpla I’ve ever seen. Some prices: Justice Gundam 1/100 going at RM88, Astraea Gundam 1/100 and Over Flag 1/100 at RM100.
Besides Gunpla, there are also quite a number of other mecha items (such as Keroro in Action?! kits and Armored Core figures). This shop also has a section for bishoujo and etc figures, but the mecha still dominates by far.
Maybe it was because I didn’t take a good look, but I don’t remember spotting any Macross kits here. Neither did I notice any Knightmares.
But still, it’s a wonderful place to go to if you’re looking for Gunpla. While in this store, you might hear the staff speaking in Chinese, but don’t worry- they speak English too.
This store is located at Times Square KL, but I forget on which floor ^^;
Bootfighter Windom XP SP-2
Author: Chong Mizunaga
Yesterday, I was visiting Fariz’s blog, and read his review of “Bootfighter Windom XP SP-2“.

After reading, I just knew I had to get that game- it’s a “OS x Gundam” 3rd-person versus game, and comes with my high recommendations. A must-play for mecha fans. Thanks for introducing us Fariz! xD
Read Fariz’s review here. How to get the game is also at his blog, so go visit him.
BTW- should I be calling you Fariz? Asuka? or Fariz Asuka instead? ^^;
Strike Freedom Haruhi

Was browsing crunchyroll and somehow ended up looking at pictures.
Just thought I’d share one of the pictures I found.

This is beside the main point but.. What doll is that? It’s not Barbie.. Anyone know?
BTW- what/whose weapon is she holding? I know the wings are from Strike Freedom Gundam, but have no idea about that other item.
Broken Gundam Parts
Author: Chong Mizunaga

Part of a friend’s Akatsuki Gundam. The gun I’m holding (seperately) broke off, so he passed to my brother to glue it back.
Do you fix Gunpla? Have you broken off parts before? How did you fix it?
This same friend also broke his Super Gundam’s gun, and somehow fixed his Wing Gundam ’til it’s face was almost falling off. He’s not a fanatic, but he gets quite a number of Gundam.
Gundam 00 - Sorairo Days

Such a misleading title..
So, what’s that all about? Nothing, really. If you are keeping/had kept track of my twitter, you’ll know that I finally got around to the first episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann yesterday. Was just listening to the opening of that series, when I realized how nicely it would go with Gundam 00’s opening animation.. So I played around with Windows Movie Maker a bit.
Found out after I uploaded it that someone else had already done the same. I feel that mine is more synced with the music though. ^^; (I edited the beginning a little)
It’s done with Windows Movie Maker, so it’s a little.. laggy and low quality.
BTW- I don’t download RAWs, so I can’t do anything about the karaoke ^^; Sorry~
Gundam 00 GIF

Here it is.. A scene cut out of Gundam 00. (Click on the picture to see the full picture+animation) I probably did it the hard way (screenshot with Fraps and composed in Fireworks), but that’s just how I do stuff.
I just love Gundam Exia.
Which reminds me, I need to write that review.
Anyone else watch Gundam 00? If you do, which Gundam/Mobile Suit do you like?
